This boho chic wedding at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami in Downtown Brickell was perfection with its checkered dance floor and tropical florals. As you first walk into the ballroom, you’re met with an elaborate hanging installation designed by Petal Productions. It’s jaw dropping with detail! What really created the ambiance was the lighting by Liquid Sky Laser Show. It transported their guests to a nightclub in Bali once the Arabic drummer opened the dance floor! Did we mention this is space also dubs as a basketball court for hotel guests during the day? Crazy. We know!
Pick the right ceremony location
Sure, Miami is known for its food and nightlife. But it’s also home to the most beautiful churches in South Florida such as the Plymouth Congregational Church. The limestone facade is unique giving the classic Coral Gables vibe. Off to the right is an open garden perfect for portraits and family formals. It’s ideal for couples having a hotel reception that might have limited outdoor photo opportunities. Pro tip: the more options you have for portraits, the better! This way you have variety in your gallery. Plus, a plan B in case the weather doesn’t cooperate at your original location. It is South Florida after all and we have to be flexible!
Wedding Details
The first thing we’ll photograph when we arrive to your suite are the personal wedding details. These often include the wedding dress, all the rings, invitation suite, perfume, shoes, watches, jewelry, etc. You get the picture. However, there are no must haves. During our timeline review call before the wedding, we’ll go over which details are most important to you. We’re all about the details and creating a game plan! We’ll definitely make a post about lay flats, what they are and how we personally style them. Keep an eye out for it! XO, Jess
